Private Lessons

Greg is a sought after and respected performer and educator, teaching at some of the largest college music institutions in the country as well as providing private instruction from his studio in Miami, Fl.....

He is now accepting a limited number of students for the following disciplines:

The lone prerequisite is that all perspective students must have a deep desire to learn.

 

>> Voice- ALL LEVELS 

Greg's studio will include the study of anatomy as it pertains to the creation of sound, the application of good technique (breathing, efficient utilization of vocal cords, projection, pitch, vibrato, overall facility, the application of various nuances) and sound. Classes also include the study of jazz and all types of popular music with an emphasis on improvisation. Phrasing, dynamics, nuance, microphone technique and overall musicality will be heavily stressed.

 

>> Saxophone- ALL LEVELS 

Areas addressed will include the mechanics of the saxophone, the study of the throat and breathing apparatus, the uninhibited production of sound and projection, pitch development, articulation and overall facility. Also covered in my studio is the study of all styles of music with an emphasis on improvisation. Phrasing, dynamics, articulation, nuance, and overall musicality will be heavily stressed.

 

>> Flute- ALL LEVELS 

Areas covered will include the mechanics of the flute, the physiology of the throat and breathing apparatus, the uninhibited production of sound and projection, pitch development, vibrato, articulation (double, triple and flutter tonguing) and overall facility. Also covered in my studio is the study of all styles of music with an emphasis on improvisation. Phrasing, dynamics, articulation, nuance, and overall musicality will be heavily stressed. Greg will also welcome established symphony players who wish to study improvisation and it’s connection to jazz and other forms of popular music.  

Lessons are $50.00 an hour, not including materials needed for the class  (staff paper, journal, tape recorder, tapes, recordable CDs, etc...) ...All lessons will involve utilizing many aspects of creative performance that vary from extensive practical applications to various listening "assignments"...Visualizations involving the performance and listening of assigned music will also be an integral part of the class...
